so awesome that i don’t even know where to begin. i’m going to refrain from posting some forced-creative, so-desperate-to-be-clever-it’s-almost-infuriating image and put mine up when i come up with a good idea. until then, please to enjoy. and if it’s good, send it along and we’ll put it up. the potential for this to be epic and amazing is too much to keep to myself.
more proof that the overly-religious have no sense of humor after the jump. (it’s impossible to make church cool, even with sexual allusions. that just makes you a hypocrite, sorry. …go fuck an altar boy.) (more…)
yeah, “Dmitri,” she didn’t call you because of some massive natural disaster/an emotionally taxing family tragedy/she’s psychologically unstable. THAT must be the reason this woman didn’t call a catch like you back for some sweet bedroom action. you’re clearly a flawless specimen of a man and the incarnate ideal of what every woman is looking for in a one-night stand. [/sarcasm]
dude, don’t take it so personally. and why do you insist that you play the victim? that’s what those True Forced Loneliness guys are all about, and we all know where that gets us. moron.
64 years after the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, I wonder that we have learned anything. The Big Picture posted 34 photos in remembrance of that terrible day in human history.
Many of us choose to focus on the victories over the downfall of the Nazis and fascist Europe when we think about World War II. Why are Hiroshima and Nagasaki so easy for people to forget? An estimated 140,000 people died as a result of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima alone.
64 years later we still can’t get countries to sign non-proliferation treaties. 64 years later, our leaders are focusing on control of nuclear resources, and 64 years later it seems like we have forgotten the brutal murder of 140,000 Japanese people in Hiroshima.
dick cheney is the devil. please add your more clever cheney jokes or insults in the comments section below this post. i don’t have the time to do that at the moment, and i’m unable to come up with a clever, biting way to express how much i detest this insult to democracy and crusader against the Constitution. i mean, i really really hate that guy. i hope he loses all his money and has to file for bankruptcy because of his mounting medical bills and that, while on his death bed, a choir of newlywed gays and lesbians sings Liberace as he fades away.
p.s. in case you forgot, this is my finishing move.
The verdict is in on the tragic death of Angela Zapata, a transgender woman brutally murdered by Allen Andrade. Andrade has been convicted for first degree murder, and the determination is decreeing it a hate crime.
The verdict brings a bittersweet ruling. Angie Zapata, a beautiful young woman with her whole life ahead of her had to die for the ruling. Nothing is going to bring her back to her family, and no sentence is enough for the cruelty and hate inflicted by Andrade. The language used in this case was so utterly disrespectful, from the defense referring to Zapata with the male name she was born with to the documentation of Andrade referring to her as “it”. How do people become that hateful? It’s so disturbing.
Nevertheless, the ruling brings a proud moment for our court system, setting precedent for the acknowledgement of hate crimes against our transgendered community. So tragic that Angie Zapata had to die for it. Now, maybe we should be focusing on preventing these kinds of crimes from happening, with education and outreach.
"oh, philip, i can't wait to alter my lifestyle, dreams, finances and personality to cater to your whims! nobody will ever convince me that you're not worth it!"
i’m sure you’ve seen/heard about this Med student who allegedly attacked two women and killed one after contacting them through ads they placed on Craig’s List. obviously, it remains to be seen whether he’s convicted, but based on the physical evidence the police recovered from the scenes, eyewitness testimony and e-mails connecting him with the murdered woman, as well as the semi-automatic gun and restraints police found in his apartment, he looks to be pretty guilty. in my eyes, guilty or not, this guy isn’t worth knowing, much less marrying. therein lies my beef. alright. so, -Z- and i decided from the jump that we would not screen or edit comments people put on our blog. we might berate or insult the poster, but their feelings and opinions will not be kept from our blog. this is America, after all, and we happen to agree with the idea and spirit of the First Amendment and the right to free speech that it grants to everybody here, us and our faithful (three) readers.
that’s why i find it SO ludicrous that so many Conservatives profess to love the country more than any other Americans can even FATHOM! yet, at the same time they are quick to deny the rights of Americans to those who don’t agree with them. (or they label those in opposition to them Communists, Socialists, Terrorists, or Socialists again, etc. etc.)
but more on that later. this post is about one of those people in particular. (more…)
So, Wednesday night I went to dinner with a friend of mine. This girl used to be roommates with me and .m. in college. She is pretty much the antithesis of Pinky Links philosophy (anti-feminist, not interested in politics or current events, nestles comfortably in the patriarchy surrounding her, etc). We call her “Charlotte” from Sex and the City. She lives in a parallel 1950′s universe at all times. (Now that you have some background, I will move on.) (more…)
