64 Years Later, So Little Learned. by -Z- by -Z-

64 years after the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, I wonder that we have learned anything. The Big Picture posted 34 photos in remembrance of that terrible day in human history.

Many of us choose to focus on the victories over the downfall of the Nazis and fascist Europe when we think about World War II.  Why are Hiroshima and Nagasaki so easy for people to forget? An estimated 140,000 people died as a result of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima alone.

64 years later we still can’t get countries to sign non-proliferation treaties.  64 years later, our leaders are focusing on control of nuclear resources, and 64 years later it seems like we have forgotten the brutal murder of 140,000 Japanese people in Hiroshima.

It’s not right.  And I don’t like it.
